Face Chin Augmentation Surgery

In chin implant surgeries, the planes of your face are changed with specially-formed, biocompatible implants. With a chin implant, or mentoplasty, your chin is augmented with a small silicon implant. This surgery is recommended by Dr. Rahban for approximately 30% of his rhinoplasty patients. The additional surgery, performed with a tiny incision and rapid healing, seems minor – but it can make all the difference in ensuring that your appearance change is exactly the change that you want.

Treatment Options

A chin augmentation is one of the most powerful cosmetic procedures available. When performed correctly, it’s capable of creating a more attractive profile, defining the jawline and bringing balance and harmony to the face.

Chin implants

This surgery involves inserting a chin implant to create a symmetrical and well-defined jawline. It’s a powerful approach that can transform your entire face and improve the contour of your neck.

Fat Transfer To Chin

A fat transfer involves removing a small amount of fat from one area of the body – such as the thighs, abdomen or back – and injecting to the areas surrounding the chin. It’s an all-natural, low-risk way to create a more prominent chin and jawline.

Submental liposuction

More commonly referred to as a “double chin,” submental fullness can develop due to age, genetics and/or weight gain. Unfortunately, the issue is very rarely responsive to diet and exercise alone and typically requires surgical intervention to completely resolve the issue.

Buccal fat pad reduction

Buccal fat pad reduction involves removing some of the fat that exists in the lower area of the cheeks. The purpose of this surgery is to minimize the appearance of “chipmunk cheeks” and create a more contoured face.

Neck Lift

Sagging skin, lax muscles and deep wrinkles are all telltale ways the neck can betray your age. When this occurs, a lift with Dr. Rahban can restore your slim and youthful neck while enhancing the rest of your facial features.

I got EXACTLY what I asked for. The procedure was painless and the recovery only minimally painful for a few short days. One week after the surgery, the small incision under my chin was not noticeable and even my own mother didn't notice the enhancement, but simply told me I looked great and trim.

What is chin augmentation

In chin implant surgeries, the planes of your face are changed with specially-formed, biocompatible implants. With a chin implant, or mentoplasty, your chin is augmented with a small silicon implant.

Chin augmentation is recommended by Dr. Rahban for approximately 30% of his rhinoplasty patients. The additional surgery, performed with a tiny incision and rapid healing, seems minor – but it can make all the difference in ensuring that your appearance change is exactly the change that you want.

Why you want chin augmentation

To provide facial balance. A chin that recedes, or simply doesn't protrude as much as other features, can unbalance your face, drawing attention to certain features, such as the nose, in a way that you don't like.

To enhance other procedures. Did you know that it is the proportions of your face that determine how large or small your nose appears? The distance between your eyes, the size of your lips, and the size and shape of your cheekbones all contribute to the appearance of your nose, but the single additional feature that most affects the appearance of your nose is your chin. If you have a chin that recedes, or simply doesn't protrude very much, your nose will appear larger and more dominant in your face. Chin implants are recommended in about 30% of nose surgery procedures.

What you want

Balanced facial features. Adding chin with your other features is a simple procedure that can significantly balance your appearance.

What you can expect in your Initial Consultation

If you are considering this procedure, please come in for a consultation with Dr. Rahban. You can expect your initial exam and consultation to take an hour or more. In your consultation, Dr. Rahban will:

  • Listen to what you'd like to achieve with your surgery
  • Perform a thorough examination
  • Tell you exactly what he recommends and why
  • Make sure that any questions you have about financing are completely answered

As part of the process, Dr. Rahban will give you the opportunity to thoroughly examine photographs of his patients, looking at his earlier work, so that you can see for yourself what to expect if he performs your implant surgery. He will discuss with you precisely how your facial features work together, and how things such as the distance between your eyes, the size of your lips and the size and shape of your chin all effect the results that you can expect from your surgery. It is important that you and your doctor agree on the aesthetics and mechanics of your surgery in order to obtain the results that you want. Call us today to schedule your consultation with one of the top plastic surgeons, Dr. Rady Rahban.

Balancing facial features is the key to a beautiful appearance. You want those observing you to observe the composite of your features and find them attractive, and it's easier to do that if your features are in correct proportion to one another.

What you want to know about your chin surgery

Your chin implant surgery is an out-patient procedure, but that doesn't mean that it is minor surgery, or that it will be brief.

After your consultation and examination at his office in Beverly Hills, Dr. Rahban will be able to estimate for you the length of time that you can expect your procedure to take. Rhinoplasties and chin implants are exacting, artistic work that requires careful attention to the tiniest of details.

"Remember: if it's made by hand, it takes time."
– Dr. Rady Rahban

For the best possible results, expect that your surgery will be performed while you are under a general anesthetic. For your chin implant, Dr. Rahban will select an appropriately sized and shaped silicon implant. Using a small incision under the chin, he will construct a pocket to accommodate the implant and place it directly over the bone along the lower jaw. Once the implant is secure, Dr. Rahban will close the incision, completing your chin augmentation.

For your cheek implants, Dr. Rahban will select appropriately sized and shaped silicon implants. Using a small incision, probably inside your mouth, he will construct a pocket to accommodate the implant and place it directly over the cheekbone. Once the implant is secure, Dr. Rahban will close the incision, completing your cheek augmentation.

What Our Patients Say: Todd

"To say that my experience with Dr. Rady Rahban was outstanding would be a gross understatement. A few years ago, I decided to get in the best shape of my life and lost about 25 lbs in the process. While my body transformed rather dramatically, I was unhappy to learn that my weak chin/double chin appearance was virtually the same.

Looking for answers, I consulted with a few plastic surgeons, one of whom recommended that I have a chin implant and a neck lift procedure, which would have cost about $25K and involved a substantial surgery and recovery process.

In consulting with Dr. Rahban, he completely dismissed the idea of a neck lift for me based on my facial/chin structure and desired outcome, instead recommending that I have a chin implant (only) which reduced the overall cost by $20K.

I liked Dr. Rahban's consultative, frank style, which was the deciding factor in my decision to undergo the procedure. He was also recommended highly by Dr. Garth Fisher, a well-known Beverly Hills plastic surgeon that worked with Dr. Rahban for a few years, which gave me some peace of mind.

I took the leap of faith required in any procedure such as this and went ahead with the surgery. I took two weeks off of work, one week for an at home recovery, and another for a vacation with my family. I asked Dr. Rahban for an enhancement that would improve my overall appearance, as I wanted people to know that I looked better, but not exactly WHY I looked better.

I got EXACTLY what I asked for. The procedure was painless and the recovery only minimally painful for a few short days. One week after the surgery, the small incision under my chin was not noticeable and even my own mother didn't notice the enhancement, but simply told me I looked great and trim.

Two weeks after the surgery, the incision mark is not visible to the naked eye. People keep asking me if I've lost weight and telling me that I look great. I have only the most positive things to say about the talented and competent Dr. Rahban, his office manager Sally, who was extremely helpful, patient, and supportive throughout the process, and his staff."
